I’ll go back to Family Day 2019. We drop off my boyfriends son after our weekend with him in the afternoon. Later that evening the mother texts my boyfriend wanting to discuss FUTURE support for their son. She never mentioned anything about money, but after their history (she cheated on him and he doesn’t trust her) my boyfriend asked many times for her to email him what she was thinking. I know for a fact had she asked for what I’m going to get into she knew he’d have flipped so she wouldn’t have been wanting this from the get go.

Please keep in mind, from the beginning the two parents were coparenting well. Mother was always aware of his income, whether he sent her the notice of assessment, or told her what his income was. When the order was made in 2013 my boyfriends income was $64,000 but when they divorced they agreed she’d keep the house and all contents, including custody of child and she agreed to a non table amount based on income of $50,000 (again keep in mind his actual income was $64,000 and she signed off on it).

After repeated requests to talk and repeated replies ‘please Email me what it is you’d like to discuss before we talk’ it became impossible to have any sort of civil conversation with her. It has come to our attention the signs of a narcissist and we have come to the conclusion that’s exactly what is coming next.

Sept 2019 she asked for three years of my boyfriends tax assessments. He didn’t have them because he had sent them to her. She claims he hasn’t told her about any change in income since 2014. Lies. November 2019 he receives a letter from her lawyer telling him he owes over $10,000 in back support because he REFUSED to provide his assessments! She knew all along what his income was. She knew he made more than $50,000 from day one but now she’s trying to get the difference between his income of $50,000 to $76,000 and we are extremely stressed out.

How do we fight this!? He has no problem paying table amount but holding onto this change in income for three years and ONLY when there’s a huge falling out she goes for his throat? Neither of them can prove they did or didn’t send/receive because everything was so easy going until February 2019. He never refused to ever send anything. We are completely screwed if she wins. I am unemployed and no assistance of any kind but I do do little jobs from home to make money. My boyfriend does not think this is fair - she’s acting in a malicious manner and now it is affecting his relationship with his son. He is 15.

They have a case conference March 3 and I guess will be self representing because we can’t afford a $3500 retainer.

Anyone ever go through this? Any suggestions or advice would be muchly appreciated. Please no ‘you’re screwed’ comments because if she gets away with this we are very much well aware.
