LAW BOOKS MISLEAD when it comes to CAS cases! Seems like lots of law books including self-help law books by lawyers and even Judges are useful in real estate, wills, business, divorces, etc, but then drop the ball when it comes to meaningful insight on how CAS cases are actually handled! Get the new PDF called “BAD Self-Help Law Books” Rev 1.0 with the link at the end of this post. “The perfect crime” of a bad law book is that a parent reading it has no idea what’s missing, they’ll never know they’ve been lied to. The CFSA and various government brochures refuse to mention an important “presumptive rule” the Ministry, CAS and courts have been using against parents for the last 100 years – parents are Presumed Guilty and never told! Sounds unfair? It is. Occasionally a court decision mentions “rebuttable presumption” should have been applied by the parents. Of course, this is all after the fact when it’s too late. So how many bad law books are there? Apparently a lot! The slim selection of law books in public libraries often rely on a narrow series of titles. So on visits to libraries across the GTA the same titles were seen over and over. With travel across Ontario, we’ll check other locations to see what other books can be found and if they are as misleading as the books listed in the PDF below. By late fall this Guide will be updated with more books to avoid. Not to be outdone, FLIC offices in family courts across Ontario carry brochures from CLEO and the Attorney General Office relating to CAS that withhold facts innocent parents need from day-one if they are to survive a CAS case. Yet our government continues to stack the deck against parents and children to help CASs rob families and the public purse! 12 page PDF best viewed with a laptop, desktop or tablet.
