Kirsty Duncan Why did you oppose Bill C560Tuesday, July 8, 2014 - Equality - Connie Brauer - Canada |

Do you have children? Would you approve of your spouse having complete control of your children and you just paying child support without any access and your MP saying who cares? Are you saying that the Liberals did not even STUDY the Bill? Our children and our Charter Rights are not up for debate. They are our children not yours! What do you mean by saying in the subject line, that Equal Parenting is not in the Lawmakers best interest? You have some nerve! You should be ashamed of yourself. You are not fit to sit in Parliament. Resign now. www.resignno ... attachment
Duncan was an adjunct professor teaching both medical geography at the University of Toronto and global environmental processes at Royal Roads University, and served on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, an organization that won the 2007 Nobel Prize with Al Gore.
Does this qualify you to steal our children? That’s kidnapping! That’s what you have done.

Dear Connie, Thank you for your email regarding Bill C-560, An Act to amend the Divorce Act (equal parenting) and to make consequential amendments to other acts. I appreciate your taking the time to contact me about this matter. I realise that you are not happy that the bill was rejected by the House of Commons. I also realise that many Canadians feel strongly about equal parenting. Matters surrounding divorce are seldom easy, particularly when children are involved. As you know, when a bill is proposed by an MP not in Cabinet, it must pass through several stages in the House of Commons: first reading, second reading, committee stage, report stage and third reading. If a bill is defeated at any point in this process, it will not become law. Bill C-560 was not studied at the Standing Committee on Justice because a majority of parliamentarians voted against, including the Prime Minister and several members of his cabinet, along with other Conservative MPs. For its part, the Liberal Party opposed Bill C-560 as it was introduced. However, had enough member of the Conservative Caucus voted for the Bill and supported Mr. Vallacott’s bill, we would have of course, fulfilled our duties and studied the bill at Committee. I realise that we may have opposing views on some of these issues, but I do value debate and different opinions. Thank you again for writing to me, and please do not hesitate to contact me again should you wish to discuss this issue further or raise any other matter of public policy Sincerely, Kirsty Duncan Member of Parliament for Etobicoke North Room 613 Confederation| House of Commons| Ottawa, Ontario, KIA 0A6 Email: kirsty.duncan@parl.gc.ca Tel: 613-995-4702 | Fax: 613-995-8359 |
