The Family of Jada would Appreciate Everyone from Our Community, as well as other supporters, to Attend Brantford's Superior Court Tomorrow Court is scheduled for 10 am, 70 Wellington St, to join the developing fight for custody of young Jada. Brantford's Children's Aid Society (Native Branch & former Six Nations office) and a possible unnamed-Medical party have taken the stance that they want to take Jada away from her family to force her into Chemotherapy to help treat the disease cancer. Jada is already being treated with our Onkwehonwe medicine and her family intends to continue this plan at this time. This is NO REASON to take another young child from our community and it is time to make a community stance known.
If our community does nothing to help this family and pressure the Government to leave our children alone ESPECIALLY when the governments plan will harm them ie chemo, crown wardships, group homes, medicating kids with pills not meant for children & over medicating, adoptions into non-native houses, then the CAS and Courts will continue to apprehend Our Children at alarming rates without just cause.
We are hoping to organize a peaceful rally outside the superior court tomorrow. Creating signs that send message that Jada's community supports her and her family; that Jada is loved and is cared for by our people; that we already have a law that includes child protection - our great law; that our community will fight for our kids best interests; that gov & judges never had our children's best interests; and that our stance is that Jada will not be removed period, will he useful so if you can make any signs, please do and attend. Please share this info with all and also, please attend to help your future generations.
Do you know anyone who drums and/or sings? Drummers and singers are being requested to attend tomorrow so please attend and bring your drums or come and sing. Will you send this info & invite to anyone you know that sings or drums as well please.
The Six Nations Elected Council has received notification about this case and will be representing their position to the court tomorrow, as far as the family has been made aware. This position will help this family and is intended to voice the voice of the child's community. Feel free to share your support with council members... They are preparing to take over child protection, in replacement of the CAS, on Six Nations.
It is hoped that this family gains the support of our Clanmothers and traditional Chiefs as well.
We are all brothers and sisters and together we will gain the independence to protect our children one day.
