I am researching the experiences of men who participate in fathers’ rights groups as part of my Master’s degree. The purpose of this study is to examine how men experience and engage with forms of manhood and masculinity in different phases of their lives in familial/relational, social, and economic environments. I also seek to better understand men’s engagement with fathers’ rights groups, and how these groups shape their experiences with manhood.

I am from Alberta. Recently I have been falsely accused of abusing my children by my Ex. An officer contacted me asking me to come in to answer a few questions regarding the situation. CPS will be contacting me as well. I am now separated from my children because of this. As taking these allegations seriously, I spoke to my lawyer to seek how to defend myself against these false allegations. The lawyer stated for me to not speak to the police but to speak to CPS regarding this matter. I am a bit confused and concerned as to why I shouldn't speak to the police. I understand I have rights not to speak to police but I'm concerned that would be used against me in the future.

My ex wife, is trying to file for divorce. She has all the resources to do so.

I can’t afford to retain a lawyer or even ready for divorce and it’s consequences now.

So, I received an email from her lawyer stating that I can choose to be served through email!!! or provide an address! I didn’t respond and I was thinking to delete that email account!

My question is, and please understand that I have more reasons to refuse to go through divorce right now, is it illegal to avoid being served at all costs or moving out of province? And what are the consequences? And since I’m declined proper humane time with my kids a long time ago I can’t afford to give her that right! Specially she’s married religiously for the second time and in a polygamous marriage and I can’t prove it!

Please advise. Thank you in advance.

I'd like to present a possible change to the Federal governments guidelines in the family court case. At the very least supply the information I have found to maybe help a larger icon tackle this issue. I understand these aren't benefits we are going to see soon but we need to present a change, shared custody isn't enough. We have no defence for our rights and even with shared custody we are limited to the access guidelines set by your municipality and what the judge deems best fit for the child based off of Question formulated from biased and incomplete studies.

Hello, I am a 42 year old single father of 3 daughters ages 9 yrsx2 and a 7 yr old with a medical condition that will challenge her throughout life. I recently come from court as I was fighting to right the wrong of my former partners decision to deny parenting time I was given a interim order without prejudice to exercise my parenting time. However I lost out on ten days of my time with them as I was submitting applications through court and did not want the girls to question why I couldn't get them if I was at home. I was denied parenting time while en-route from my shift work in northern Alberta and was notified upon arrival in kelowna. I remained there till I secured a court date. It left me only 2 days of parenting time. My former spouse is setting the board up with the help of legal counsel in order to not have to loose child support by breaking the status quo of a 50/50 shared parenting role in which we have as coparent and our kids are the primary benifactors She insinuates that I am not taking the administration of my daughters medicine properly with no basis or background just low hanging fruit that is serious in nature. I fear I will start to lose more and more time with my girls. I act as agent for myself and really could use some support,

advice and like minded fathers like myself who can shed some light at the end of the tunnel for me.
